This piece is part of my Creatures of the Mechazoic Era series, which imagines what fossils and artifacts far-future civilizations might uncover when digging up their past, but what if their far-past is still our future?  How would they feel about these creatures being the bridge between us and them, and what conclusions would they draw?

The original robots were constructed out of various materials such as epoxy putty, wood, metal, resin, acrylic, PVC, and yes, animal bones, utilizing a wide range of building techniques including hand sculpting, lathe work, life casting, and laser cutting.  Once the robots were complete, they were encased in a concrete mixture that was then chipped away much like one would chip away rock to uncover a fossil.  The fossils were molding in silicone then cast with resin and ceramic fillers to make a light-weight rock-like casting that could be hung from the wall.
