While I like to dabble in pretty much anything, a lot of my work tends explores the beautiful and the macabre, with a touch of surrealism that blurs the edges of reality, as well as subjects involving sci-fi, and pop-culture. Recently I’ve been experimenting with the incorporation of light and movement into 2D paintings, using mid 19th century techniques and modern technology.
When I started off making props and sharing them to communities like The RPF I went under the ThrowingChicken moniker, a name that has kind of stuck with me for some 20 years now, and this name continues to house all of my creative endeavors.
In addition to my solo work, in 2017 I co-founded the Híjole SA studio at the Blue Star Arts Complex in San Antonio, where I enjoy spending my time organizing shows with other local artists and continuing to showcase the work of current North East School of the Arts students.
