The Blue Starflower of Alderaan, often referred to as Leia De Los Muertos, was created for a Day of the Dead celebration in San Antonio, TX as a way to honor then-recently deceased Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher. The image was created digitally with Adobe Illustrator, then laser-engraved onto a pine board. The colors and shading where then hand painted in with oil paints, and then a layer of black was applied with a brayer. Over the years the image has been remade for various local events, including a UV-reactive version on watercolor paper for a black light show.
